What else causes lip sores besides Herpes? - lip sores caused by worms

I have this numbness, warm, tingling in the bottom of the mouth. It was red with white centers. I thought it was a cold sore, but then left after half an hour. My lip is now good. There is nothing ..... what could? If it herpes develop, why not?
